Julie works as a voice coach, voice therapist
and communication skills trainer.
Julie not only brings extensive therapy experience
to her work but also uniquely combines this with her
voice coaching skills. Julie has a Masters degree in
Voice Studies from Central School of Speech and Drama
and, in the last 18 years, has worked individually
and corporately, in the effective use of voice in business,
teaching and in preaching. She has worked with trained
actors and singers, as well as countless others who
are professional voice users.
Julie’s clients include the BBC, Sun Microsystems,
M&S Money, Voice Care Network UK, the Diocese of
Chester, the Liverpool Institute for the Performing
Arts and ‘Childsplay’ TV Production Company.
Julie is passionate about developing her clients’
voice and communication skills to enable them to be
effective communicators and to be more naturally themselves.
Julie is committed to taking the mystery and ‘hype’
out of public speaking. She does this through specific
feedback and training to facilitate her client’s
self-awareness, understanding and control of their vocal
presentations.
Julie believes in actively listening to her client’s
needs, offering choices and then undertaking purposeful
work together, in the spirit of exploration and fun.
This clear, practical and long-lasting work supports
personal and professional development and aims to improve
confidence and ease in all speaking situations.
Furthermore, Julie’s extensive experience as
a specialist therapist within Speech and Language Therapy
means that she can not only provide specific advice
about how to maintain a healthy voice, but when needed,
she can also use problem–solving techniques to
enable her clients to overcome particular vocal difficulties.
